Every year, in late April since 2006, EUATC (European Union of Associations of Translation Companies) organises a conference in one of its member countries, alternating between east and west.
This year, the 11th EUATC conference was held in Budapest. In 2017, the 12th conference will take place in Berlin on 20 and 21 April.
With a specific focus on sales and management, the 2016 conference attracted over 150 participants to the legendary Hotel Gellert venue on the banks of the Danube River, giving exhausted conference participants a chance to unwind in an incredible spa!
During the first day, the practical workshops proved to be very popular, with many participants enjoying the concrete issues that were dealt with.
The two-day event put the spotlight on key concerns:
Should we give in to the pressure being put on prices?
Is the translation industry buoyant?
What future is there for automatic translation?
And many others still…
Participants also found out about Budapest as part of a brilliant interactive talk with translation stakeholders from over fifty countries.
The annual translation event in Europe has grown in popularity due to the fact it offers vast amounts of information and many interesting discussions. It also provides insight into upcoming changes in the industry and enables participants to take stock of all the technological changes.
See you in Berlin in 2017!
