CNET (Chambre Nationale des Entreprises de Traduction – French national chamber of translation companies) will be holding its annual conference on 22 March at the CGPME in Puteaux near Paris. This year’s theme is“Translation and globalisation”. Translation professionals are invited to come and discuss the challenges and opportunities globalisation represents. Catherine Granell, Director of CG Traduction & Interprétation, a translation company, will be speaking as Vice President of the EUATC.

About CNET

CNET was founded in 1977 to promote the image of the translation profession among clients and to federate an extremely disparate industry, giving it legitimacy and weight when negotiating with the government.

Some of CNET’s more notable achievements for translation professions include the collective agreement for service providers released in 2000, the key role it played in the EN 15038 “Translation Services” standard (2006) – which Catherine Granell negotiated on behalf ofFrench translation companies – and drafting the 2010 Certitrad standard.

CNET Conference, “Translation and globalisation”

Globalisation is posing many challenges for translation companies, but also offering many opportunities. The CNET conference on “Translation and globalisation” will take a closer look at various aspects of translating at international level. Topics will include financing for translation companies, recruitment, human resources and communications.

Particular priority will be given to feedback from translation companies with proven international success such as Powerling (Hong Kong), Over The Word (UK), the Traducteo Group (Korea) and more.
Catherine Granell, Director of CG Traduction & Interprétation, a translation company, and Vice President of the EUATC, will be presenting the 8th EUATC Conference to be held on 3 May 2013 in Brussels (Thon Hotel).

Why take part?

The conference will offer new perspectives to all translation professionals. This year’s speakers are key names in translation at international level, with a vast amount of experience.
